Can you believe it’s almost fall. School has started, traffic patterns have changed, and the leaves are starting to change colors. They are particularly vibrant around here with deep reds and yellows that we haven’t seen in the last few years. It’s a good sign for the fall.
Pumpkin glaze has arrived. It’s a new version made with brown butter and just a hint of pumpkin spice. Raspberry yeasted doughnuts have left the building and lemon cake has come back to replace them. We’re getting much closer with our Panettone testing. This year instead of doughnuts, we are doing it in the style of the classic loaf. Our version is leavened with sourdough giving it a nice tang to balance the sweet, delicate, crumb studded with cherries and chocolate. We expect to have them available for sale by the end of October, just in time for the holiday season.
We’ve updated the website with doughnut FAQs. Take a peek and let us know if you have any questions that we should add to the list.
Sundays Suppers still have not come back. We’ve had some challenges at the shop and they are still on the back burner. Meanwhile we are toying with the idea of a pasta class using our pasta extruder. It would be more in the style of a demonstration class, where everyone gets to eat the dishes we make and chat and hang out. Let us know if that is something you would be interested in. They would take place on Sunday afternoons around 3-4pm.
Just a reminder that sourdough loaves, croissants, stuffed shokupan, and focaccia are available most days at the shop.
We look forward to seeing you there soon!
