June 2024
Hey Doughnut Lovers,
We can’t believe that it’s already June. We’ve started a few newsletters, but they get too long and then we don’t finish them, so we’ll keep this short and sweet. The latest menu is up on our website. You may notice there are no savory options. The wraps and the strata sticks didn’t sell well enough to be sustainable. You will still find the stuffed shokupan rolls on Wacky Wednesdays, and other days. We are giving some serious thought to our savory program and what we want to do with it.
Our bread program is in a good place. After some trial and error, Alex has cracked the code on his naturally leavened sourdough bread. One of the keys was sourcing a home for the sourdough starter, which keeps it at an optimum temperature to do its best work in the dough. Alex’s bread is much lighter than your classic sourdough loaf and has a very balanced flavor. It’s not your classic heavy sourdough loaf. Our bread is available Thursdays-Sundays. Croissants are available Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, starting at about 9:00am.
We will be closed for vacation July 1-7 so that we and our employees can spend some time in the sun with the people we love. Everybody needs to recharge their batteries so that we can come back stronger. Now that Alex is happy with the shokupan rolls, you may see a burger pop up on the menu after the break.
We are now open at 7:30am, Wednesdays-Sundays. We know our Philly peeps are looking for a pop-up and we’ll try to get something going later this summer. In the meantime, swing the shop by for coffee and a doughnut, or to snag a loaf of bread and a honeycomb croissant. There are plenty of things going on nearby this summer in Doylestown, New Hope, and Peddler’s Village that will make a trip to see us even more fun for the whole family. No matter what kind of doughnut you’re craving, we’ve got the best dough in town.
We look forward to seeing you at the shop!
